Technology Article Assignment #4

Cray has come out with the XC30-AC, the most affordable supercomputer on the market. Cray  built the world’s first ever supercomputer. The new supercomputer is only 500,000 dollars, which to the average American is quite pricy. But compared to previous supercomputers it is very cheap. Cray’s previous supercomputers sold from 10 to 30 million dollars, and supercomputers being developed in Japan are being sold for 1 billion dollars. It has the same software as previous computers but is much cheaper. Cray is trying to make supercomputers more affordable so they can be used in more businesses, and by more people  around the world

A cheaper supercomputer is a huge development in the field of technology. The Cray supercomputer is just as advanced as other supercomputers, but is smaller and cost millions of dollars less. This will lead to more supercomputers in homes and businesses around the world. Eventually we may even see supercomputers cheap enough to belong in the homes of the average American.

Technology Assignment #3

Google Fiber, the new google internet and television service, is now attempting to branch out to Provo, Utah. Google Fiber produces lightning fast internet speeds, 100 times faster than the average American's internet. It also produces a television service that shows all TV shows in HD. As well as letting the customer record up to eight shows at one time. Google is trying to buy iProvo, which is the city's current internet service. If the deal goes through then Google will set up Google Fiber in the city.  Google Fiber is also in Kansas City, Kansas, Kansas City, Missouri, and Austin, Texas. The google fiber plan will cost $120 for both internet and TV, as well as a $70 for just the internet service.

This could affect and change the way everyone uses technology. Google Fiber could end up branching out to every city. Making everyones internet and TV quality even better. Google will continue to branch out and improve this system until they run out of proper funds. Overall Google Fiber would make internet access more convenient for people everywhere.

Article Assignment #1

A new Google patent application describes a new technology. Google plans to make the already groundbreaking Google glass even better. Google wants to make the Google Glass be able to control everyday objects such as televisions, refrigerators or your garage door. These would have to be special appliances though. They would have to be equipped with WiFi or Bluetooth. The Google Glass would project a virtual display, allowing you to open or close your garage door. As well as changing the temperature of your refrigerator. Sadly, this technology will not be available for a while, and even when it becomes available it will be very expensive.
This new product would be very cool, and fun to use. It would also be a huge step forward in technology. That could eventually lead to being able to control everything in our house virtually. I think that this is a great and innovative piece of technology. But I also feel it would cause some Americans to never get off their couches. I believe that this kind of technology would go past the point of making things easier and more convenient. And instead it would make already lazy Americans even lazier. I also think that for many years to come no one will be able to use this technology, because it will cost a lot of money to get all of your appliances outfitted with WiFi.

Books I want to write

I would like to write books about the History of the NFL, the History of College Football, and the History of Notre Dame Football. Football is a subject that is very near and dear to me. I love to play it,    love to watch it, and love to learn more about the game and its history. The History of the
NFL. Would include the AFL, NFL merger. As well as rival leagues to the NFL, and the evolution of the game.
The History of College football, would include the first ever game in 1869 between Princeton and Rutgers. As well as the development of the league under President Roosevelt, and its growth since then. The history of Notre Dame football, would be about the creation of Notre Dame football, as well as its famous games, coaches, and players.

Before

After

I changed the sharpness, colors, and exposure of the picture. As well as using Draw, Film Grain, and Dusk. I chose this picture because I look up to Herschel Walker. I consider him to be the greatest running back of all time.

Online Learning

I very much enjoy online learning. It allows me to work at my own pace, and get assignments done much faster than if, I was sitting in class. If I understand something faster than other students, then I have to wait. Instead of working on my assignment. If it was all online then I would be able to work from home, and at my own pace.
I dislike the fact that if you don't understand something, or the explanation online is not thorough. Then I could get stuck on an assignment, and not be exactly sure what I'm supposed to do on the assignment. This would cause me to get lost and behind on my homework. Because there is no instruction available, It would be hard to get back on track.
